QUARANTINED EPISODE ONE

"I think both of us need space!" Jane insisted. "For the last three months, things have not been the same for us, this thing isn't working. I thought I knew you, I convinced myself I love you and care so much about you, but I don't feel anything for you anymore." She continued as James, her boyfriend stared at her as many questions staggered in his mind.

"Why are you doing this to us?" He asked as crests of tears tried to bubble out of his eyes. But he suppressed them in. No,  African men do not cry. James was a true son of the African soil born and raised in Western Kenya.

He looked at her, walked towards her with a royal smile, held Jane's hand and kissed her fallanjes. "If it's your wish for us to separate, I am sorry I cannot grant it. I love you so much and I am not ready to loose you." James said to Jane while holding her in his  magical chocolate brown smooth hands. Arms which no lady would resist to be engulfed in.
"James, this is the right thing to do. I honestly thought I loved you, but with this quarantine dispensation, I have realised I don't. We are not a match and we cannot be what we dreamt of being, I am sorry I wasted your time but I don't want to be where my heart cannot be. Good bye James. And please do not call me!"

Jane confessed as she took her purple leather handbag and opened the door. "Please love, don't do this to me. You are killing me, you know you are my strength, my joy and happiness. Don't abandon me at this moment." James cried out but Jane did not listen. He followed her while on his spongy heavy knees but no, Jane had made up her mind, and James was no longer the champion of her heart. Her heart had rendered him a persona non-grata.
To show how serious she was, Jane had already called for an uber. She dashed towards the black Toyota vits that was standing outside the house. She jumped in as the driver stared at her. "Hello lady!" Said the driver. "Just drive!" Whispered Jane.
James was left at the front of his gate, staring at the fumes of the blqck taxi eloping with what he thought was the champion of his life. "Jane please come back." James cried out as he cursed the taxi driver. But when he looked around, men were throwing glances at him to register their great embarrassing sentiments hidden in their minds. He woke up, took the blue sandals that had slipped off while on his knees, dusted off the dirt on his knees and slowly walked back to the house. He had never experienced such a scenario, but he consoled himself;there's always first time for everything.
No James, Jane was not tired of you. Perhaps she was trying to taste the waters. It was more than a heartbreaking moment for James. He took his phone, tried to dial Jane's number but no, she was not picking. Now he was alone and he couldn't prevent the tears from bubbling up his. This is the time he recalled all the sweet moments he had shared with Jane. The cuddling in bed and on the couch, calling each other all time and all that you love birds do. He took his old Infinix phone, tried to dial her number again. It wasn't going through.

On her side, Jane was staring at her iphone X, which had been bought by James, it indicated 'Beb Calling.' She immediately hanged up the call and changed James' contact name to 'Ex-J'. After a short drive, she was already at her house located in Umoja. She opened the door and to her surprise, the door wasn't locked. She got in and there he was, staring at her with a succulent grilled smile. It was Brian, the cute handsome and tall and intelligent man in his early thirties. He was an aeronautical engineer at Wilson Airport. "Hello beautiful!" Said Jane holding a glass of water.
Jane was happy to see him, though it came as a surprise to her. "How did you get in?" She asked in a mesmerized tone. "Well, I see someone doesn't recall giving me her extra key." Brian answered as stood up and strolled towards her. Jane was gripped with some joy which drove away the sensational guilt of breaking up with James. But she didn't want to show it. Instead, she put her handbag on the couch and walked straight into her bedroom, took off her clothes and jumped into the bathroom.

"Can I join you?" Brian asked with a sarcastic smile. There was no answer from Jane. He knew this was the right time to survey the fertile land that he had always yearned to purchase. He understood many desert locusts had camped around the fertile land full of flowers, ready to infest it.
Making hay while the sun still shone was his motive. He went to Jane's bedroom, quickly capitulated into his birthday suit and quickly opened the surveyor book in search of the much needed title deed. Just before he could begin scrutinizing the first chapter, Jane and Brian heard a voice which was familiar to Jane, "Why?" It was James, holding a bouquet of red roses in his hands.
