DRAMA CARTELS ARE KILLING THE DRAMA NATIONALS
The 58th edition of the National Drama Festivals rounded up on the 16th of April 2017 in Kisumu County at Tom Mboya Labour College, Lions High School,Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Girls High School. With the little experience I have in Drama, I must say this years edition was the most boring of all and I blame the cartels that pin down the best items to pave way for their poorly choreographed items to proceed. To be specific, the plays performed this year were not captivating as they have always done. Most of the thespians in the Halls were disappointed by the items. For example, there was a stampede at the entrance just before Butere Girls performed their play. But surprisingly, most of the people in the hall got bored in the 10th Minute. Soon the Hall was filled with noise because the play was so boring. Many people were really disappointed with the performance. A message to the most experienced directors, please pave way for the upcoming directors for you have run out of ideas. Wonderful plays and dances are left at the regional levels while the so called dorminant directors who happen to be in close contact with the adjudicators take their boring items to the nationsls. You are destroying the festivals guys .....LET THE UPCOMING DIRECTORS SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS OR ELSE YOU ARE KILLING THIS INDUSTRY
