QUARANTINED EPISODE ONE

"I think both of us need space!" Jane insisted. "For the last three months, things have not been the same for us, this thing isn't working. I thought I knew you, I convinced myself I love you and care so much about you, but I don't feel anything for you anymore." She continued as James, her boyfriend stared at her as many questions staggered in his mind.  "Why are you doing this to us?" He asked as crests of tears tried to bubble out of his eyes. But he suppressed them in. No,  African men do not cry. James was a true son of the African soil born and raised in Western Kenya. He looked at her, walked towards her with a royal smile, held Jane's hand and kissed her fallanjes. "If it's your wish for us to separate, I am sorry I cannot grant it. I love you so much and I am not ready to loose you." James said to Jane while holding her in his  magical chocolate brown smooth hands. Arms which no lady would resist to be engulfed i...

My First Visiting Day.

So the special day had come, the visiting day. It was the first Sunday of the month and everyone but I was prepared to see their parents. In class seven, my dad had taught me perseverance during such special days by neither turning up nor sending someone to visit me but trust me, I used to eat on this day more than anyone. Baraka was my desk mate and his parents never missed to come. “If my parents fail to come, heaven will break loose,” boasted Baraka whose father was a police officer while the mother was a teacher. For me, my father, a high school teacher knew his son was well, strong and studying hard to achieve his future dreams. Baraka was so kind to me for he always took me along to go and feast on those hot chapattis and kuku. I remember how Baraka had called his mother the previous day commanding her not to forget to bring more chapattis and chicken. Few minutes after church service, parents began arriving. I was on my way to class when I met Linda. Yes, she had captured m...

Religion in Africa

Africa has been regarded as the darkest  of all  continents yet wealthy in resources. More than two centuries ago, Africans worshiped their own supreme God. But just when African land was invaded by the Europeans and Arabs, Christianity,Hinduism and Islam began to take root. Fear was created by the so called missionaries who later on provided a condition that for one to be a Christian, one had to have a Christian name.  Does religion affect the name or is it one's spiritual endeavor! The African culture has since deteriorated and soon we will be dominated by foreign cultures. Ask a 30 year old African man some important issues in his culture and he won't tell you anything. So was religion created to benefit the few or worship God ?If so, then which is the true religion? Is it Christianity where it is believed Jesus the Son Of God is the way, the truth and life, or the Muslim who worship God through Prophet Mohamed but disregard Jesus as being the son of God, or Hindus w...

WHAT WILL REDEEM PROF PLO LUMUMBA FROM THIS SHAME? Once again allow me to congratulate the Kenyan Supreme Court for making the wisest decision therefore elevating the level of democracy not only in Kenya but also in Africa and the world at large. It is no secret that Kenya has become an icon of democracy in the world where no individual or group of evil minded can use all their resources to impose dictatorship to the people not realizing that the sovereign power lies in the hands of the citizens. I applause the four judges of the Supreme Court for not consenting to the submission presented by the perceived tough senior councils Paul Muite, Ngatia and Nasir Abdulahi. Furthermore I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the renown lawyer Prpf. PLO Lumumba for the degree of embarrassment he displayed in the court chambers. How I wish Proff. Lumumba would have stuck to what he knows how to do best instead of manifesting in court and parroting , instead of counter-attacking th...

MY VOTE OUR CHANGE OUR FUTURE Every lip in Kenya at the moment laments on high living cost .Every Kenyan is wondering on how to balance on what to buy and not to buy between Unga and milk or sugar. Parents are wondering how to pay the school fees. Farmers are complaining of poor production. It is high time we realize that this Government cannot and will not help in salvaging the pandemic the country is going through. However, the calamity can only be resolved by we, the victims,We the voters,We the citizens of this country. And that can only happen when we wake up that day, the Eighth of August 2017 and make the change that we want for we are the change that we have been waiting for. But if we decide to stay back home and get busy at work, then let us all blame no one but ourselves. The sovereign power lies in no one but we the citizens. So my humble plea is to go out on that day and make our change. Vote for your change and you will be remembered in the history of this count...
